The library was a small-scale library built in 1965. With enrolment growth, the school expended facilities and established separate reading rooms for each department in 1980. In November 1993, a new building used for library purpose was finished. 8,752.46-square-meter architecture is a 5-floor construction and has capacious space and abundant lighting. Reading rooms faced Kun Shan Lake offer quiet and beautiful atmosphere. Since the school has changed its school system from institute to university, the library is elevated status to first-class unit.
With rapid development, total number of faculty, staff, and students has been over 18,000 people. Because the library space is insufficient to accommodate all users anymore, the board of directors decides to appropriate huge funds to build a brand new library and information center. The new 13- floor center is 50 meter high with 31,953 square meter floor space. Net floorboards, broadband Internet accesses, and hot spots enable users to search World Wide Web easily. Remote access IP-based system controls waterpower, air conditioning, central control, and monitor equipment. Library and Information Center consists of Multimedia Center, Computer Center, and International Conference Hall that support multi-function purposes.
